Jasmine – The Character

Who is this young woman?

Jasmine is the name of someone. It is likely the young person who lives in a state funded facility.

Jasmine is an imagined character. Although she is not based on a real person, she is very much an actual story that was inspired by visiting, interacting with and feeling the emotional impact that reverberates within the walls of state run foster homes facilities.

This story is a way to honor the young people who grow forward without the guidance of their respective parents.

This writing is a way to textually draw what one person may be living. It is -an attempt to give an intimate look in the direction of foster care.

It is a way to paint one story that very well may touch on the mural of many lived stories, as well as an earnest attempt to dive deeper towards the lived monologues of one fictional character. Although this is not a biographical account, it is a story that feels real within the confines of an imagined foster care facility.
